Michael Tuck is a legendary figure in the AFL, widely regarded as one of the most successful & durable players in history.
Over a 20-season career spent entirely at the Hawthorn FC (1972–1991), Tuck amassed a record-breaking 426 senior games, a feat that stood until 2016.
Tuck’s career is defined by extraordinary team success and personal longevity:
- 7 Premierships: He holds the league record for the most premiership wins by a player, occurring in 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, and 1991.
- Captaincy: He captained Hawthorn from 1986 until his retirement in 1991, leading them to four of his seven flags.
- Durability Records: He played in a record 11 Grand Finals and 39 finals matches.
- Honours: Tuck is a “Legend” in the Hawthorn Hall of Fame, a member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, and was named in the Hawthorn Team of the Century.
