Amanda Farrugia is a former Australian Rules footballer who served as the inaugural captain of the Greater Western Sydney (GWS) Giants in the AFL Women’s (AFLW) competition.
As of 2026, she continues to play at the club level, recently re-signing with the Sydney University Australian National Football Club (SUANFC) for the 2026 season after winning their Best and Fairest award in 2025.

AFLW Pioneer: She captained the Giants from the league’s inception in 2017 until her retirement from elite-level football in late 2019.
